Still Cranky

It occurs to me that if I got more sleep I might be less cranky. But until Princess H learns that there are other people who can get her a drink in the middle of the night, and until the insomnia passes, I'm afraid we're stuck with cranky mommy. Cranky mommy is not a fun mommy. Cranky mommy does not take H to the toy store, or jumping jacks, or anything remotely fun. Cranky mommy wishes the sippy fairy hadn't taken the sippys so she could just stop the noisy cryhole for 5 minutes.

I wish cranky mommy would go away. Of course, I wish temper tantrum toddler would go with her.

Cranky Old Man

Sometimes I feel like a cranky old man. When I was a kid, we didn't have fancy DVD players and TIVO, so it's hard for me not to feel cranky when Princess H wants me to pause shows, back shows up, and do it now. Right now we're watching The Sound of Music, and this is what I hear: "Mommy, go to where the kids get scared." "Mommy, go the the puppets." "Mommy, go to the part where they go like this and walk."

This has been going on for 2 days! And since I got a whopping 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, and my blood pressure seems dangerously low, I really feel like catering to a 3 year-old who wants the Sound of Music at 7:00 in the morning. Lousy kids.

I must go. Sixteen Going On Seventeen sounds like it's winding down and I'll need to skip to My Favorite Things.

Stuff

So, I'm almost done cleaning up from the Super Bowl. It was a fun party, but not so wild and crazy that it should have taken two weeks to clean up from. I'm just too lazy to take the card table and chairs down stairs. And I'm not sure what to do with the leftover chips.

I thought I was all cleaned up from Christmas, til I discovered that the doormat of our home says "Happy Holidays!" Plus there's the whole light up candy canes and snowmans in the yard. And they need to come inside, because a roving band of teenage delinquents is roaming around busting up light up candy canes. Those cost $1.50 at Wal-Mart you jerks!

I'm kind of malaisey today. Yes, I know that's not a word. I have school board meeting, and my laptop has conked out so I have to use a pencil and paper to take notes. And I have to remember to leave by 5:00 because it's now in Springville instead of Spanish Fork.

My Fault

My SIL went into super early labor this week so I've been spending a lot of time trying to help her with her kids. All to no avail--she had the baby last night! 6 weeks early! The baby is in the NICU, but I can't help but feel responsible. If I wasn't planning a trip to Bear Lake she would be fine. Last time I planned a winter trip to Bear Lake my Mom died. I really hope Kris and the baby will be okay.
